Charlottesville and Williamsburg KOA

June 28, 29 & 30

We stayed at Charlottesville KOA. We stayed two nights. This was just a stopover enabling us to keep our drive times down to three to four hours a day. This is the first-ever campground that gave us the park map and told us to select a site from the options circled on the map.

Getting to the campground, the GPS took us on a narrow, winding, eight-mile road. The following day, after we took a ride to check out the area, we found a much easier way to get to the park It stinks when you don’t know the area and your only option is to follow the GPS. Paper maps are fine for interstates and routes, but not for country back-roads.

During our stay, the park was very quiet. Our site was gravel and level. Hubby said he didn’t want to ever return to this park. Not because of the park itself. It was the road and drive to the campground that mostly turned him off.

While at Charlottesville, Virginia, we took a ride. We found this cute little General Store. Meadow Run Mill & General Store, located on The Thomas Jefferson Pkwy.

I could not resist and made a few small purchases. My Yankee family and I were in Virginia to attend a wedding. This purchase would make a great addition to the anniversary gift we were giving.

I love any display of the American Flag.

June 30 thru July 5. Our next destination was Williamsburg / Busch Gardens Area KOA Holiday. This was a very nice campground but we paid a price for it. You can tell it’s a nice resort by the building where you check-in.

Our site is a deluxe concrete patio site with plenty of room to park our Big Boy Truck.

We had a picnic table with an umbrella and a plant. We also had a gas grill that we didn’t use.

This KOA had many amenities.

We are in Williamsburg to attend a Wedding and an Anniversary party. I’ll tell you all about it in the next post. I’m still having WIFI problems uploading pictures.

Hubby’s sister very unexpectedly passed away on June 29th. Martha and a few family members were on a day trip to the NY side of Niagara Falls when at the end of the day Martha suffered a massive heart attack. Fly high, pretty lady. You will be truly missed by many.
