Sunday, September 5, Day 90.

The park is full of RVs from everywhere. Hubby and I enjoy walking around the campground looking at all of the different brands of RVs. Hubby also likes to look at license plates to see where everyone is from.

It’s been cold at night. In the mid 40s. If you’ve been following my posts, you will know my bedroom is in the garage of our 5th wheel. Hubby has the kingsize bed in the bedroom. If you are new to my blog, here is why I sleep in the garage. We have three fur kids. We all used to sleep in the bedroom in our kingsize bed. Benji used to have Cujo moments and would go after BooBoo. Several times in the middle of the night, Benji/Cujo would rush to attack BooBoo. Don’t know if Benji was having night terrors but it was like something out of a horror movie. So BooBoo decided he was not going to sleep in the kingsize bed with us. But he was not happy sleeping downstairs on the couch alone so he would cry and that would tug at my heartstrings. I would go down and sleep with BooBoo on the couch. I eventually bought a Folding Ottoman Sofa Bed, Convertible Chair 4 in 1 Multi-Function Modern Breathable Linen Guest Bed with 5 Position Adjustable Backrest and put it in the garage. It folds up into an ottoman for easy storage when we are traveling.

I put a foam mattress pad on it for added comfort and put it in the garage area. I was hooked. No more listening to hubby snoring. I have my own bathroom in the garage area. The 5th wheel came with a TV in the garage area. I have my computer system all set up in the garage area. I have a big window right next to my ottoman bed. I’m a happy camper back here. I have everything I need. It is super comfortable. BooBoo is happy too.

There isn’t insulation in the garage area which is okay because most of the time, we are in warm weather. Last night it got cold. Let me also add that the 5th Wheel heater works great in every room except for the garage. I do have a dyson heater for in the garage but I didn’t have it plugged in and it was bungeed in the corner. This morning, I got it out, plugged it in and will run it tonight.

Yesterday we took a. drive to see the Abraham Lincoln Memorial Monument. It’s a short 20 minute drive from our campground.

The Lincoln Monument is a bust of Abraham Lincoln by Robert Russin, high and resting on a granite pedestal, at the Summit Rest Area on Interstate 80 east of Laramie, Wyoming.

The Henry B. Joy Monument was originally located at the site of one of his favorite camping spots beside the Lincoln Highway in Wyoming’s Great Divide Basin west of Rawlins. He was camping there in 1916 when he saw the most beautiful sunset he had ever witnessed and expressed a desire to be buried at that site.

From Google: This monument commemorates the Lincoln Highway, America’s first transcontinental automobile road, and Henry Bourne Joy, the first president of the Lincoln Highway Association (1913). Joy, also president of the Packard Motor Car Company, is sometimes called the father of the nation’s modern highway system. he said that his effort to create the Lincoln Highway was “the greatest thing I ever did.”

We made a stop at Walmart on our way back to camp. Our dogs eat better than us. We also give them spring water. It helps with the tear stains. Ever since we changed their water to spring water, no more tear stains.

As good as the internet was at our last campground, that is how bad it is here in Laramie. I’m not just talking about the campground internet. My Verizon gets a so so signal. Hubby’s T-mobile gets a so so signal. Our Nomad internet stinks and my plan with Winegard stinks too. So I can’t blame the campground for having poor reception with their internet. The signal is just bad here. But that didn’t stop me from doing my research in finding our next few nights stays on our drive to our home base.

I’m working on reserving campgrounds for on our way back to our homebase. I enjoy doing this research and making reservations.
