Cathedral Falls is one of West Virginia’s highest and most scenic waterfalls. This is a very easy waterfall to visit. It is located in a small roadside park along US 60 about 1 mile east of Gauley Bridge. The falls is visible from the road, and the parking area, but much better views can be had if you take a short walk. Hubby found a great parking space along the road which made for an easy exit.

The Gauley River is a river in West Virginia. It merges with the New River to form the Kanawha River, a tributary of the Ohio River.

Set on the rim of the Gauley River Canyon, the 156-acre Carnifex Ferry Battlefield State Park is an important Civil War battle site.

A short walk from the truck led me to an overlook.

What a beautiful view.

As the day was drawing to an end, I captured this beautiful West Virginia sunset.
We are four hours from home. Tomorrow morning, we will hitch up and drive the last leg of our trip to our homebase. There is a 100% chance of rain in Pennsylvania tomorrow.
God Bless, Stay Safe, Be Kind to Every Kind and if you ever are in the Summersville, West Virginia area, enjoy this area.
What a lovely stop! Safe travels home.
