Today is our one year anniversary on the road.

Happy Anniversary to us. November 23, 2019, we pulled out of our yard at our homebase and started our journey. This past year went by so fast for us. As I reflect back on the last year, we had so many enjoyable times. Although we missed some family events, I would call it a trade off. We are missing some great family events in trade for living a life that some people only dream about.

We are traveling during a pandemic. Wearing masks, washing hands, always having sanitizer, social distancing, and empty shelves. A shortage of paper products, especially toilet paper and paper towels makes traveling interesting.

In this past year, two Great Nephews were born. Being back home during a pandemic, I would not have been able to be at the hospital when they were born anyway. It was so nice when I got to meet Geno and Max. Being away, I am watching them grow up on Facebook portal, video messenger and SnapChat.

I was able to attend the double baby shower. Since my sister, niece Molly and I hosted this event, it was important for me to be there.

Molly and Vin got engaged. Molly was totally surprised. I am so happy for them. I am looking forward to bachelorette party, shower and destination wedding. Hubby, I am attending each of these events.

This past year, we were able to spend time with family.

We got to attend the Guy family reunion. Below is Hubby and his immediate family. It was good to see everyone.

We had a driveway put in at our homebase. Now we have a nice place to park our rig when we go to our homebase in the spring and fall.

We built a shed at our home base. We were paying for a storage unit. We gave up the storage unit and now we have some items hubby could not let go of in our own unit on our own property.

We do the normal maintenance and organization on the rig.

We’ve watched some awesome sunsets and had some beautiful views of lakes and oceans.

We’ve taken plenty of walks. We can’t even mention the word walk or even spell it now without the pups going crazy. The pups know how to spell.

Sometimes they just need to ride.

We’ve stayed in camp resorts and campgrounds. We’ve stayed in 30 different camp resorts and campgrounds. Below are just a few.

We are very comfortable in our little home on wheels.

Our plan was to use the Big Boy Truck to get from destination to destination and use our GoldWing and Sidecar to do all of our sightseeing. We got the GoldWing/sidecar in the garage of the 5th wheel, but what a pain. Too much for the hubby and I to handle each time we stopped at a destination so we decided to put it in storage. Thank you Jennifer. Our sightseeing will have to be done in the Big Boy Truck.

We got scooters. Most people that travel in an RV have golf carts. We decided on mobility scooters. These can go as fast as 15 miles per hour. I like our scooters. The scooters fit in our garage with plenty of room for other things.

We’ve spent hours and hours in the truck. The pups are such good riders. We try to limit our travel days to between three and four hours of driving time. We are not in a hurry to go anywhere.

We are happy traveling.

I don’t miss the snow and cold. My sister sends me pictures to remind me of what I am NOT missing. Miss her but not the snow.

I want to thank everyone who follows me and reads my blog. It’s been a great year on the road. If you do not follow me, enter your email and click follow me. You will get an email notification each time I publish a new post.

God Bless, Happy Thanksgiving, Stay Safe, and Be kind to Every Kind.

Our family lost two pups this year. They lived very long and happy lives.

RIP Coco and Diesel.

  2. What a wonderful post! Congratulations on one year. By the way, your family is beautiful! Where did you get Benji’s handkerchief? I love your fur babies and I’m sorry for the loss of Coco and Diesel. I bought a tiny house and am getting out of my RV for a bit due to family needs. It’s been a wonderful 4 years in it. And I’ll look forward to getting back on the road later on! In the meantime, I’ll enjoy following all of your adventures. What a wonderful year! God bless you both and Happy Thanksgiving 🦃🍁!

    1. Happy Thanksgiving to you too. I got my pup’s bandanas from FurbabiesFashion & CarolsDogScarves on Etsy. What I like about these is they fit over the pup’s collars. I don’t have to tie them. I hope your family is ok. My sister and I own a tiny house trailer on a piece of property across the street from her and I rent it and that is my Homebase. We go home for a month in the spring and a month in the fall each year. It’s in PA and the weather is horrible there so I am glad we are in Florida now. It’s going to be 80º today. Take care and keep reading. Since we are going to be stationary for a few months I will have to find some way to make my blog interesting.

      1. Thank you so much for the information! And Happy Thanksgiving 🍁 I’m glad you’re warm and cozy. My family is doing well. My sons are both in Air Force and stationed in Alaska and Washington so it was wise for me to choose home base near my parents as they age. I had designed a tiny home on a trailer but couldn’t get financing. So I found a “larger” small home (around 1,000 sq for) totally remodeled on a foundation. I think that is so neat you rent your tiny home out! I’ll look forward to catching up with you! Karla
