Day Trip to Fort Williams Park!

On the drive to Fort Williams Park, out of the window of the Big Boy Truck, I saw a plane heading our way.  I grabbed my phone and hurried to open the camera app.  Looking through my phone I could not find the plane.  At the last minute, I saw the plane and was able to snap this picture.  I thought it was a pretty cool picture.  Yes, this picture was taken with my iPhone camera through the window of the truck.IMG_2539

It was only a 20-minute drive to Fort Williams Park.  We found a parking space that would fit the Big Boy Truck.   We need a larger space because of the dual wheels.  We had to pay at a kiosk for parking.  It was only $2 per hour with a minimum of two hours.  That’s not bad.  I knew we would not be staying for longer than two hours.  It was hot out.  I thought the further north we came, the cooler it would be.  What the heck???  It was a hot 90º today.  This park is dog friendly.  We took the puppies for a walk and they tired out very quickly in the heat.  Especially Bella.  she kept laying down in the grass.  She was both hot and tired.  Feeling bad for the pups, we took them back to the truck and hubby sat with them while I armed with my camera went on a mission to get some good video and still shots.

People were taking advantage of the beach area on this very hot day.  A sign stated, “swim at your own risk”.

It was a windy day, perfect for sailboats.

This lighthouse had to be a mile away.  I have this camcorder that has an awesome zoom.  I wanted to see the Portland Head Light which is supposed to be the most photographed lighthouse in the US, but this cannot be it.  We still have all day Monday and Tuesday to find the Portland Head Lighthouse.  I asked Seri to find it for me.  That was an epic fail.  Keep reading my posts to see if I ever find it.

I googled it and this is a screenshot of what it is supposed to look like.  It is my mission to find it.  The picture above definitely is not it unless most of it sunk into the ocean.

I walked the trail and came upon this beautiful site.

Maine is a beautiful state.  This is the fourth time we’ve been to Maine.  Three times on our motorcycle and now in the 5th wheel.

If you have not already done so, enter your email and click on “follow me” so you get notified each time I publish a new post.  Keep reading to see if I ever find the Portland Head Light.

God Bless, Stay Safe and Be Kind to Every Kind.
