Someone on the news called what we are experiencing the Twilight Zone. Uncharted Territory. I can’t think of a better way to describe what we are going through. Did anyone ever think something like this could happen? I hope this is not the new normal.
Because of this Twilight Zone and Uncharted territory, Hubby and I decided to extend our stay in Florida to the month of April. Currently, we have an RV site in a very nice RV park and we can stay for as long as we need to stay. All of the amenities, such as the pools and lake beach areas inside of our park are closed. The restaurant is open for delivery only which is fine with me. The office and camp store is also open. In order to keep all of us tenants safe, all visitors/guests are banned from entering the park.
We had initially planned on leaving Florida on April 7 to head home. Our fear of leaving on April 7th was “getting” home. Driving time from our current location to home is 14 hours. We only like to travel 3 to 4 hours of driving time each day. This means we would need 4 nights’ accommodations. With this time of uncertainty, what if we headed home and could not find a place to stay overnight. What if we would have trouble getting fuel? What if we broke down on the highway, could we get help?
We wanted to be home mid-April for doctor appointments. We will start to contact our doctors and cancel our appointments and reschedule them for hopefully May.
I have to cancel and reschedule my appointment with our groomer Chelsey. She will for sure have her work cut out for her. I will change the pups’ names to Shaggy BooBoo, Shaggy Bella and Shaggy Benji.
This Twilight Zone – The Good, The Bad and the Ugly.
The good. We are at a very nice RV park in Fl. The weather is wonderful. If we have to social distance ourselves from everyone, this is a good place to do it. The sun is shining. There is a slight breeze. The high today is 86º.
The bad. Far away from family. I do miss my family and was looking forward to seeing them after being on the road since the end of November 2019. This will have to wait. We do have video conferencing with our YouTube portal.
The UGLY. The Corona Virus/Covid19. The Twilight Zone. I have common sense and I look deeper into this Twilight Zone than most do. Too many “WHAT IF’s”. I can’t change what is happening so I will stop thinking WHAT IF and just enjoy being a shut-in with my hubby and furbabies. We like to relax anyway. I just saw on TV that getting a good night’s sleep helps the immunity system. Therefore, I am allowing the hubs to stay in bed for as long as he wants to. I think when Hubs was sick back in December, he had this virus. So maybe he built up some immunity to it. Looking back, he had all of the symptoms. It’s a thought! We will never know for sure. If you don’t know what happened to us back in December, read the following post. What do you do if you are on the road and one of you has a medical emergency?
So everyone, stay safe. Social Distance yourselves so you do not spread this horrible virus and take this time to relax your body and your mind.
I also want to mention we lost a family member to cancer last week, Rest in Peace Mark. It’s sad that Mark is now with more family members in heaven then we have left here on earth.
