Montgomery is the capital of Alabama. We stopped for the night at an RV park called The Woods RV Park and Campground. After we got all settled in, we decided to stay a second night so we will be checking out on Friday morning instead of tomorrow. This RV park has all of the amenities we need. No perks as it is not a resort. Today was a very hectic drive day so we decided to rest for a few days. Tomorrow will be a rest day and I think I need to get some laundry done. It is also predicted to rain.
There is a little pond at the edge of the campground. As soon as we got settled, it was time to take a walk around the campground. Benji caught sight of two geese and a duck.
The sites are spacious and long. At check-in, we were warned of high water pressure at this park so we are glad we have a regulator. Everyone should have one. This park offers free cable TV so we have 65 channels to choose from. Funny thing. There is a time change when we drove into Alabama so my favorite TV programs that used to start at 8 back east now start at 7 pm.
So at a daily rate of $35, this place is great for a stopover to rest up and get some stuff done. Verizon is the internet of choice in this area. Not getting a signal on AT&T.
CORRECTION: OTR MOBILE DOES WORK. FOR SOME REASON I LOST THE SIGNAL AND OTR HAD TO RESET IT. GREAT SIGNAL FOR AT&T AND GOOD SIGNAL FOR VERIZON.
There must be train tracks close by. We hear an occasional train horn. And three times so far we’ve heard an airplane fly over. There are many restaurants within walking distance.
