Our day yesterday (Sunday, January 19) was a fun day and it was great to get out of the 5er and do something different. Although it was rather chilly, we had a good time.
The day started with Jason and our granddaughters, Kierra and Jasmine arriving at Jennifer and Jim’s house. We all went out and fed the animals. Jennifer and Jasmine fed the pig. The pig’s name is Tater.
Some of the animals came to the fence to greet us.
Jennifer took a quick spin on the scooter.
Our next adventure was going to the park. Dan Nicholas Park is only a few miles from Jennifer’s house. Dan Nicholas Park is home to a campground, lake, carousel, train, gem mine, aquarium and nature center, animal habitats, and more.
Kierra and Jasmine played in the playground while Hubby and I walked the pups.
The Water Plaza (splash pad) is one of the newest attractions to the Park and I read on their website it is the most popular. When the humidity starts rising here in NC, Kids, as well as adults, stroll through the water sprinklers and fountains to cool off. It was closed when we were there. Burrr. I think the high was 49 degrees yesterday.
This park also has a really nice campground and it would be so much fun to stay there. We rode through the campground and only saw one site that would fit our huge 5th wheel RV. As much as we would love to stay at State and National campgrounds, we knew when we ordered such a long rig that we would have a hard time fitting in sites at state and national campgrounds. We are pretty much confined to Independently owned campgrounds and KOAs.
We ended our day eating at a really good Italian restaurant. Hubby got his usual, chicken fingers and I got a pasta dish with veggies. Pasta Primavera. It was so good.
It’s cold in NC and we can’t wait to head south again. We packed up the scooters and the puppies and we are heading to Texas.
The Scooters fit in the garage of the 5th wheel with room to spare.

Sounds so fun! Totally not related to your post but how big is your garage? We are thinking about getting a 5th wheel and not sure how big of garage we would need. We have a travel trailer right now.

The garage is 12.6 feet long. I believe 80 inches wide. I have a Youtube video about the garage. Look at Glamping in My RV, Riding in My Sidecar on YouTube.
