We hooked up yesterday (11/22/19). We thought it would be a good idea to hook up a day earlier just to make sure all went well. We didn’t want anything to delay pulling out in the event we had problems. It went smooth. Easy Peasy.
After a tear-filled goodbye to my family, we pulled out of the yard at 11 am. I am so lucky to have a family that loves me. I am truly blessed. Although I will miss them dearly, my quest for adventure in my retiring years is pulling me to travel.
We loaded up the puppies and off we went. We got these nifty car seats for the pups. They were pricy but well worth it. I can’t believe how good they traveled in these nifty seats. They even cuddled and slept a lot.
The truck pulled this monster rig great. But what a GAS HOG. Things got jostled around. I’ll know better tomorrow when tightening down the hatches. Even our stackable washer and dryer moved. Before we knew it, we were pulling into our campground.
Our first night was spent at a Koa campground in Sutton West Virginia. The campground is called Flatwoods KOA. We arrived around 5 pm and it was raining. This campground is associated with the Day’s Inn that is within walking distance of the campground. We actually had to check-in at the reservation desk at the Day’s Inn. Check-in was fast and easy. We had prepaid at a rate of $47. This park has WIFI and they give you a code but I didn’t use it. I used my JetPack from OTM that uses ATT and the ATT Wifi is excellent.
The site was level and because it was pouring down rain, we decided to just hook up to electricity and not unhook from the truck.
Tomorrow we will leave early and head to our next stop. More to come!
