Dickinson is a city in Galveston County, Texas, within Houston–The Woodlands–Sugar Land metropolitan area.

We booked the month of February in Texas today.  The RV resort called Marina Bay Lake Cove.  They currently have availability for January and February.  We reserved for February.  Our 5th wheel will be a “back-in” spot right on a beautiful lake.  Our back deck will open to the view of the lake.  This park has 96 spots.

Suzy, the resort manager was very friendly and helpful when we talked today.  I like reserving online when I am staying at a hotel, but I like the more personal touch for the reservation process for glamping.  Hotel, you need a queen or king bed and maybe a refrigerator.  Glamping in my RV, we need to discuss the length of the coach, our pets, getting packages and mail,

The monthly rate for my spot will be $600 plus electricity. The deposit for electricity is $150 and will be returned at the end of our stay minus the electricity we used during the month.  Suzy,, the resort manager said most of this deposit will be returned because the weather in February does not call for either air conditioning or heat.  She mentioned it was seasonably nice on the Gulf Coast of Texas in February.  Let’s hope she is right about the weather.

So far, I am under budget for monthly campground/RV resorts costs.

They are very pet-friendly with no limits on the number of pets.  Benji, BooBoo, and Bella will be very welcome there.

This park boasts many amenities.  We will have to get out our fishing poles and do some “Lake Fishing”.  Cable and WiFi are included.  I need to start to use the Fitness Centers at these resorts.

This park looks lovely.  I can’t imagine being able to use the pool in February, neither do I know if it is heated or open all year round.  It certainly is big from what the picture shows.

We had initially thought we would spend the winter months this winter in Florida.  When looking for places to stay we quickly changed our minds when we felt Florida was too crowded with snowbirds, resorts were fully booked, many were annual residents in RV parks and the fact that we could go broke paying the monthly resort fees, we decided to head west.

I’m not booking a monthly resort for the month of January.   We will take the month of January to head west.  As you can see below, it will take us 15 hours driving time to get from Wekiva to Dickinson.  We will break this up into weeklong stays, starting in the Panhandle of Florida and going through Alabama and Louisiana.
