This is a first for us. We made our first reservation. After much research and watching YouTube videos, we picked a park. We made a monthly reservation at a camping RV resort called Wekiva Falls for December. We have to wait to book for November because we are not sure when the RV and Truck will be ready for us to pick them up. I’ll shoot myself if I am not in Florida by December. We check-in December 1 and check-out January 1.
This park is located between Daytona Beach and Orlando.
.
I was told when we arrive, we each will be charged a $20 fee for a background check on us. All monthly guests have to have a background check, which I am fine with. I know there will be people staying for shorter stays that won’t be getting checked but I like the idea of a background check being done on long term camping residents.
I feel the monthly rate is reasonable for Florida in the winter. We need a Premium Site which is a little higher but in order for us to fit in a site, it has to be a Premium Site. Do I know the difference between standard and premium: Yep! Premium sites are 30 X 100 where standard sites are 30 X 40.
This park is a pet-friendly park. When I made the reservations I was asked how many children and pets. Even though my pets are my children, I did tell them 0 children, 3 small dogs. Below are rules I hope everyone follows.
This park is quite large. Almost 800 RV sites.
The premium sites are light blue.
Roy and I will have to practice up on our Shuffleboard play in the event we want to join a tournament. We will look into classes. On the other hand, I think we will pass on Shuffleboard. Can you see Roy and I playing Pickle Ball? Below are the winter activities we can partake in. We will take advantage of the 3 miles of paved roads.
- Shuffleboard Classes & Tournaments
- Pickle Ball Classes & Tournaments
- Leslie Sansone “Walking Videos” 3x weekly in Magnolia Club
- Canoeing and Kayaking available on the Wekiva River
- Over 3 miles of paved roads throughout the park perfect for biking and walking!
They do have BINGO. I might have to sneak out once in a while for a night out playing a game of chance. I may leave that park being an expert in Line Dancing.
What I really like about this park is if you cancel prior to 30 days you get a full refund. If you cancel within 30 days of arrival, they give you a credit for another stay. Having to reserve months in advance, this makes me feel good about putting $765 on a credit card.
I believe we will need to head further south for January and February and start heading north in March. We need to be home in April for doctor appointments and spend time with family before we head West in May.
