Another day in Wexford for Roy. This is the second time in a few short weeks that Roy has had a Squamous cell carcinoma removed from his arm and back.
Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) is the second most common form of skin cancer.
Back in the day, we didn’t realize the damage the sun can do to our skin. Heck, we used to lay out in the sun smothered in baby oil with iodine in it. We were actually frying our skin. Roy worked on a farm for many years in his younger days and with his light complexion, he is affected with Squamous cell carcinoma. Although I did spend a lot of time in the sun, I was not a sun worshiper like my friends were. I got bored quickly.
I’m not going to gross you all out with pictures. Just know it is not good. Wear sunscreen and wear a hat. I got me a nice hat. I have another one on order.
Unfortunately, that hat is not a rain hat. It’s been raining all day today. Darn, it’s been raining and raining and raining for days with only a day or two of sunshine. And when the sun is out, it’s been cold. I have the heat on in the house and I’m heating the pool. What’s up with that. The electric meter is spinning away.
