Guess where we are? Does the background give it away?
The day started yesterday around noon. It was raining as I picked up the girls. After an hour drive, we pulled into Mountaineer Casino, Racetrack & Resort for the night.
Our room was on the sixth floor. That was the top floor of the hotel. We gambled for a few hours. We had reservations at the nicest restaurant in the complex. Unfortunately for plant-based eaters, this restaurant was a steak house. But thanks to Jeremy (the chef) he whipped up a fantastic meal of grilled veggies.
Dinner was delicious.
In the room next to our room, we kept hearing a dog bark. Although we thought that was strange we ignored it. Later in the day, someone asked what kind of dog we had. We found out we were on the dog floor. We were told to be glad we were not on the smoking floor. We did, however, come to the conclusion we were also on the marijuana floor as each time we walked down our hallway to our room, we could smell the distinct smell of weed.
Since the casino was in West Virginia, the 5 of us spent the two days singing:
Country roads, take me home
To the place I belong
West Virginia, mountain mama
Take me home, country roads
John Denver
Thank You my family for this fantastic little trip. I had a great time.
Did I forget to say, all of us didn’t come home empty-handed?
