Hubby and I have been going to the largest RV show in Hershey, PA for over 10 years trying to decide, do we want a Class A Motorhome? Do we want a 5th wheel? A year ago, we decided when it was time, it would be a 5th wheel toy hauler.
We have it all picked out. It will be a Momentum 398M by Grand Design. We actually went to an RV dealership in Ohio to look at that exact 5th Wheel because they had one on the lot. What a relief. We know what rig we want. Our mind is made up.
The other night at lupper (between lunch and supper) with our friends, hubby dropped a bombshell. He is worried that our Goldwing with Sidecar might not fit in the Toybox. I asked, “when did this dawn on you?”
I thought I had it all figured out. I have printouts that detail every aspect of this 5th wheel. I bring out all of my paperwork and I have every dimension except for the width of the Toybox. Now I’m on a mission. I email Grand Design. I get a quick reply from Grand Design telling me that a product specialist would get back to me soon. He also gave me the location and information for the closest Grand Design dealership near me. Now instead of getting an email with the dimensions, I get bombarded with phone calls from sales reps at Campers Inn RV of Pittsburgh. No email or call from a product specialist. That is all fine and well if they would answer my question. Why could they not just leave me a message telling me the dimensions? I know why. They want to sell me an RV. So I leave a “not so friendly voice message” telling them I can’t buy anything until I get my questions answered. I also state that I won’t be buying anything until my house sells. So the Sales Rep from Campers Inn RV returns my call and tells me he will call his Grand Design rep early today (Saturday morning) to get me the info I am requesting. Mike, the sales rep wrote down all of my questions and repeated them to me.
More to come in the next post.
